A Guide to Your Benefits Transition from Empire to Independence Administrators

As the Benefit Funds recently reported, effective January 1, 2023, the NYCDCC Welfare Fund’s third-party administrator for Medical/Hospital coverage will be transitioning from Empire BlueCross BlueShield to Independence Administrators (“IA”). To help you further understand this transition, the Fund Office has put together a short video containing the main details of the change. We encourage you to watch the video by clicking the link below. Also, please be on the lookout for your new ID cards from IA. They should be arriving to your homes in the coming days.
