In October of this year, we reported to you via our website, newsletter, social media pages, and email blast system, that effective January 1, 2019, the New York City District Council of Carpenters Welfare Fund (the “Fund”) would begin offering access to One Call, a voluntary program that provides reduced rates for diagnostic testing by directing eligible members and dependents to providers that participate in its national radiology network.
As always, the Fund’s goal in offering you access to this voluntary program was to make every effort to give eligible members and dependents superior health care options at reasonable costs. This is a goal that is consistently at the forefront of the Board of Trustees’ collective decision-making.
However, due to administrative circumstances between the vendors that are beyond the Fund’s control, we must now unfortunately report that access to the One Call program, which was originally slated to begin January 1, 2019, has been delayed indefinitely. The decision to indefinitely delay the implementation of access to this program was made with your best interests, as well as the Fund’s, in mind.
At this time, the Fund’s Board of Trustees is reviewing this matter and looking to revise the implementation timeline in a manner that will be most beneficial to all involved parties. Keep in mind that delaying the launch of this program will not have any effect on your current benefits.
Please continue to visit our website and social media pages for future updates on this situation. If you have any questions, please contact our Member Services Department at (800) 529-FUND (3863).
