Board of Trustees Announces Appointment of Olivia Cuggy as New Executive Director of the NYCDCC Benefit Funds

The Board of Trustees of the New York City District Council of Carpenters (“NYCDCC”) Benefit Funds is pleased to announce that it has appointed Olivia Cuggy the new Executive Director of the Funds, effective February 23, 2026.

Ms. Cuggy has spent the last ten years in senior leadership positions at the 32BJ Benefit Funds in New York City where she most recently served as the Director and Chief Counsel for the 32BJ Legal Services Fund. Ms. Cuggy previously held leadership positions at the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

Additionally, Ms. Cuggy formerly served as the Co-Chair of the AI Governance Group at the 32BJ Benefit Funds. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, and she is a board member of Research Girl, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and mentorship to underrepresented students.

Ms. Cuggy obtained both her undergraduate degree and her law degree from University College Galway, Ireland. She was awarded a Master of Laws degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. Most recently, Ms. Cuggy obtained a Master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

As is evident from her professional and educational achievements, the Board of Trustees believes that Ms. Cuggy has a depth and breadth of experience that will further enhance the Funds’ operations. In return, Ms. Cuggy has expressed sincere commitment and dedication to ensuring excellence in the delivery of valuable benefits to our members.
