December 19, 2016
Beginning in the last week of December and extending into early January of 2017, Empire BlueCross BlueShield will be sending out new ID cards to Active participants/dependents and Non-Medicare Eligible Retiree participants/dependents in the New York City District Council of Carpenters (“NYCDCC”) Welfare Fund. These new cards are being produced and mailed to represent an update to your In-Network deductibles, which will be reduced by fifty percent (50%) effective January 1, 2017. As previously announced, your new deductibles will be as follows:
ANNUAL DEDUCTIBLE | IN-NETWORK | OUT-OF-NETWORK |
$200/Individual | $750/Individual
$500/Family | $1,875/Family |
ANNUAL DEDUCTIBLE | IN-NETWORK | OUT-OF-NETWORK |
$250/Individual | $750/Individual
$625/Family | $1,875/Family |
Since your ID number will remain the same, the card you currently have will continue to work if you attempt to use it. However, we recommend that you utilize the new ID card once you have received it. At that point, you should then discard your current ID card.
If you have any questions concerning your ID card, you can contact Empire BlueCross BlueShield directly by calling (800) 553-9603 or visiting their website at www.empireblue.com.
