Participant Letter from the NYCDCC Benefit Funds Concerning Anthem/Empire Cyber-Attack

Participant Letter from the NYCDCC Benefit Funds Concerning Anthem/Empire Cyber-Attack

February 26, 2015

As a result of the cyber-attack that recently took place against Anthem, member data was potentially breached. This news affects those of you who participate in the NYCDCC Welfare Fund because Anthem is the parent company of Empire BlueCross BlueShield, the company used by the Fund to provide you access to a provider network and process medical claims.

Because of the seriousness of this situation, the NYCDCC Benefit Funds has prepared a letter to go out to all Welfare Fund participants, which explains what has happened and how you can take steps to protect your own identity, as well as those of your family members who are covered under the Fund. This letter is in the process of being mailed out to the homes of all participants, but it can also be read before it arrives by clicking the images or the link to the PDF below.
