Prudential Retirement to be Acquired by Empower Retirement

There will be No Changes to your Annuity Account as a Result of the Acquisition

New York City District Council of Carpenters (“NYCDCC”) Annuity Fund participants will soon be receiving communications from Prudential Retirement advising that it is nearing the completion of a business transaction that will result in the company being acquired by Empower Retirement. The transaction, which is expected to be completed some time in the next month, will not cause any changes to your Annuity account and no further action concerning the acquisition is required on your behalf.

Here are some more facts concerning the acquisition and your account:

• Prudential Retirement is being acquired by Empower Retirement, a company that administers over $1 trillion in assets on behalf of 12 million American workers and retirees through approximately 67,000 workplace savings plans (as of September 30, 2021). 
• No changes will be made to your individual account and you do not need to take any actions concerning your retirement savings. 
• You can continue to use the Prudential website (www.prudential.com/nycdccbf) and app as you normally would. All login information and contact numbers will remain the same as well. You may soon begin to see the Empower Retirement logo when you access your account. You will receive advanced communications if any of this information is scheduled to change in the future. 
• The acquisition will have no negative affect on customer service or monetary distributions.
