The MEND Program Recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month

The MEND Program Recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month

May 13, 2021

During May, the MEND program joins The National Alliance on Mental Illness (“NAMI”) as part of the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949. Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness.

Throughout the remaining portion of May, the NYCDCC Benefit Funds will be using its website and social media pages to promote Mental Health Awareness Month by providing facts, informative links, and ways you can take action to help make a difference. Be on the lookout for the hashtags #NotAlone, #MentalHealthMonth, and #MHM on our social media pages.

We encourage you to participate in sharing information and helping to end the stigma associated with mental illness.

What is The National Alliance on Mental Illness (“NAMI”)?

NAMI fights stigma, provides support, educates the public, and advocates for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. You can learn more at www.nami.org/mentalhealthmonth.
